Better late than never…. Christmas Gift Ideas from Local Northern Ireland Businesses

With only 5 shopping days to go it’s probably definitely time to get the Christmas shopping done. I know some of you will be super organised and all your gifts are already wrapped with pretty bows but this is for the rest of you. It might be too late to fully rely on posting from the big guys but I’ve put together some fab gift ideas from local businesses that you can easily pick up or arrange to collect. Even if you’re already sorted it’s a good list to have at hand.

Field Day Ireland: (Range of candles, home fragrances soaps, handcare and even car scents made in an inspired by the Irish countryside). With the most evocative names and scents these products are sure to win the hearts and smells of any countryside lovers on your list. 2pm on dec 20th is the last day for guaranteed delivery in NI and ROI from Field Day but they have a host of local stockists you can pick up from to the weekend.

Mr & Mrs Bath Boards (BathBoardsNI). What do you get the person who has everything? A bathboard of course. I use mine all the time it is literally thee best thing plus it looks fab as a decorative piece over the bath even when not in use.

Wee Love Languages: Give someone the gift of a new language in the New Year at wee love languages NI’s apparently ‘coolest’ language school based in Belfast. I LOVE this idea how quirky and fun and they offer both kids and adult lessons!! Find out more on the wee love languages website here.

Family Photo: The perfect gift for mum and dad, Granny and Grandad or that friend or relative that lives abroad and doesn’t get to see you all very much. Emma Jane in Dandelion Studio Moira offers studio sittings where you can all have an excuse to get together again in the New Year. Also a lovely gift for new parents.

Emerald + Opal ( Beautiful handmade and bespoke designed jewellery from Belfast). From stunning bridal and formal hair pieces to the most simple and elegant pieces of jewellery for every occasion  – this is another of my favs find them on insta @emeraldopaljewellery.

Jack Murphy Jewellers Newry: If you have been begged for a big branded gift this xmas why not have a nosey at some local stockists rather than buying direct. For instance the Cluse Watches we have all been eye-balling (I particularly love the new marbled face). Jack Murphy’s have a brilliant selection as do lots of other small businesses.

Food glorious food: One ‘couple’ gift Pete and I always love to receive is a meal voucher. It’s a great excuse for a night out in the new year and I mean who doesn’t like to eat. A local favourite of mine is The Bronte Steakhouse just outside Banbridge (Thee most amazing steaks and a really great value meal).

Jenny Glow Perfume: Unless you’ve been living under a rock you will have heard of this amazing Jo Malone dupe. The pomegranate seems to be the favourite though I’m also a massive fan of their lime and basil scent. These are available in lots of local chemists including Gordan’s Chemist where you can get 80ml for just £12.99! One of my favourite local boutiques ‘Vanilla’ in Lisburn is also stocking the scent PLUS a gorgeous range of clothes and accessories (If you watched my stories last week).

The Golfer on your list: I took up golf a couple of years ago but have never really had the time to fully get to grips and improve my game. That doesn’t stop me loving it though and I know for a fact I would be delighted with some lessons vouchers to get me out trying again in the New Year. So if you know someone like me with a set of clubs gathering dust a lesson voucher could be the perfect gift. Jason Greenaway at Banbridge Golf course is offering a great deal on lessons for xmas (see below). If you already have a pro golfer in your life then there’s also a brilliant array of golf gifts, clothing and accessories to suit all budgets and abilities over at the PRO shop.

Rebecca Killen Ceramics: Quirky and fun ceramic designs for any home and handmade in Ireland by the lovely and super talented Rebecca. You need to go have a nosy at her stuff – would even make fab new home gifts! Here’s a link to her website Rebecca Killen Ceramics.

That stylish man in your life: The insanely talented Meabh Mageean designs and makes mens waistcoats. What an amazing gift!! Even if you’re sorted for Christmas this is one to keep in the memory bank!! Anyone getting married next year you also need to have a look!!
