Caught red-handed and all for under £50

So by this stage we’re all well aware that bright reds are one of thee biggest colour trend for autumn/winter 17. I for one am majorly excited because as a lover of all things monochrome and a sucker for a black basic, bright reds make for the perfect colour pop. I’d also like to fully dispel the myth that red heads can’t wear red… seriously it looks amazing on you babes!! If you’d like proof just look in the mirror. Bright popping reds in particular are much more complimentary on a range of skin tones than their duller counterparts, so for once this seasons ‘it’ colour will work for everyone that wants to wear it!!

If you follow me on Instagram you’ll already know I’ve been fully embracing errything red from earrings and bags to my new favourite biker and shoes. So when I was having a quick rummage around Primark on Saturday I was instantly drawn to my new favourite colour and picked up 3 fab key pieces that I think will take me stylishly into autumn. Even better I got a coat, boots and a jumper for only £47… all hail Primark!

1. The Coat

Let’s be honest the biggest thing to get excited for when Autumn hits (apart from hot chocolate dates) is deciding on a new coat. Usually as a stylist I’d suggest staying away from strong colours or overly patterned designs when choosing a coat to carry you through the Autumn and Winter …. and most likely most of spring lol However… when Primark produce a wool-blend coat like this beauty in popping red for just £25, then I say buy, buy BUY! You can save the ‘sensible’ purchase for the second coat you can now also afford to buy. Beware though I’ve a feeling this coat is going to fly of the rails with eagle-eyed bloggers all over the country undoubtedly going to make it one of their coveted ‘must-haves’ of the season.

2. The Boots

A bit like the coat these boots are quickly becoming ‘THEE’ boots to be seen in. Not only are they bang on the colour trend but they’ve also got a comfy block heel at a mid-height meaning they’re perfect for day-wear or walking yourself to the bar after work. Wear them with black tights and your favourite black shorts or checked pinafore, rolled up your mom jeans and pair them with a matching red or black tee or before the frost fully kicks in brave them bare legged with a loose midi or denim skirt and oversized knit. I loved these so much I put them on as soon as I got outside and have barely had them off since! Winner… and only £14!

3. The fun injection

So ok the colour itself is pretty fun but surely we can do better than that? So with that in mind my final purchase was this cosy Mickey Mouse jumper that I just thought would add a little interest to a black skirt and tights, layered over a white shirt or paired with some high-waisted trousers. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea granted but for £8 I think it’s worth a spot in the wardrobe. Slogan tee’s and character jumpers have continued to dominate this summer and Disney favourite’s really have came out on top, a trend that looks set to continue through aw17 – so technically with this little knit your covering a few fashion bases.

To see how I style these pieces over the coming days and weeks follow me on Instagram (ddonohoe_stylist_blogger), Snapchat (deec1987) or Facebook.

For now here’s a few snaps of how I’ve been adding some ‘red’ to my wardrobe to date,

Love Danielle xx
