Last week saw the fashionistas of Northern Ireland once again descend on Belfast for the Spring/Summer season instalment of Fashion Week. This season saw some fabulous new sponsors such as Lavazza and some exciting new break-off shows such as Style Saturday fashion filter. Unfortunately due to my own hectic schedule of personal shop clients, styling and events, I could only make it to one show out of the lineup. I was absolutely gutted that I couldn’t make Style Saturday with the amazing Courtney Smith, Rebecca McKinney and local styling geniuses Jamie Russell and Lewis Cameron who are currently taking London by storm. However, the High street heaven show was certainly more than an acceptable consolation. Any of you who follow me on Snapchat (deec1987) and Instagram know I am obsessed with how good the highstreet is at the moment – particulary Zara – and the show did not disappoint. I think what I enjoy most about catwalk shows is the personal styling. This is particularly true for the highstreet show as there were several pieces showcased that I’d not only seen before but even styled myself. However, seeing how Belfast’s own fashion boss lady Cathy Martin, selected and put together outfits in the ‘directors cut’ edit was really interesting and made me re-see pieces in a whole new and inspiring light.
Anyways – rather than me ramble on I’ll share some snaps of the night with you for those who weren’t able to make the show or weren’t following my snaps or Instagram live updates (shame on you – get following me!!!!!lol)
I’m already excited for the autumn/winter shows in October and hopefully I’ll be able to make a few more of them next season! You can keep up to date and get ticjets as soon as they launch on the Belfast Fashion Week website – http://www.belfastfashionweek.com
See you there,
First up…. What I wore
I was absolutely delighted to be ‘Style-Spotted’ by the gorgeous Melissa Riddell before the show and receive an extra little goody bag courtesy of West Coast Cooler. That’s one way to put a smile on a gals face! I opted to wear a pair of gingham cropped trousers from River Island (Get them here) and clashed it with a striped shirt from h&m (Get it here). To add a splash of colour I picked up some orange heels on sale in River Island and a matching orange necklace in h&m. Then (because it was absolutely baltic outside) I wore my new denim jacket over the top. I picked up this little jacket in Marbella and fell in love with the colourful fringing and tassel details.
With the babe herself Melissa Riddell
I was also lucky enough to score some FROW seats so I got a great view of all the looks on show (and better pictures for you lot). Win-win eh lol.
I met one of my blogger buddies the always stylish Lousie Vance just before the show started. Louise is the loveliest girl inside and out and a brilliant blogger (with the most drool-worthy handbag collection!!) Make sure and give her a follow – http://www.the-real-elle-woods.blogspot.co.uk
And now for the Catwalk…
